What got you interested in running your own business?

I guess running Take Heart is really an outlet for me to continue to do creative things. I work full time while running take heart working for my parents company; maintaining their website and doing all their design and advertising work. That's creative in its own way but I don't get to do much of my own things which is where Take Heart Kind of grew from.
I first started out as Elohel Clothing and then switched to Take Heart when life changed and so did my style of art. I think also most of it it's about having something that's mine. Something I have built from scratch to call my own outside of family ect.

It's hard work and it's definitely not something you can just pull out of thin air. There are so many other people trying to create clothing lines and your competition is most of the time just as determined as you are.

I guess my philosophy for Take Heart has always been to keep it simple, keep it personal and keep it improving and that shows in the more I draw. I run it all myself and I like to focus on the art side of it a little more then most clothing lines do because Art is my passion and its what I do. That's why I offer commission designs as well and I enjoy working closely with people to get their idea drawn out and finished for them just how they like it.

People think its easy to do, but getting your name out there, getting Take Heart out there is so hard and its something every company faces, But that feeling I get when I see someone wearing Take Heart or having a print that I drew up on their wall is one of the best feelings and that's why I continue to do it.
